I see no indication on the SEGGER website they've discontinued the EDU model.

They do discontinue old versions, replacing them with new versions. What version is your model?

Still need one? lol I know it's been a while, but I've got a brand new one that I never used. V11. I wanted to get into hardware reversing. Ended up getting a job in appsec so I started focusing on other things.

I don't think it's been officially marked as discontinued yet, but it might as well be since it hasn't been available anywhere for a few years now.  As far as I am aware though, the mini is practically the same functionality just in a slightly different form factor.

The original EDU isn't listed among the models on Segger's J-Link page and is now listed in Segger's wiki as a "legacy" device. I'd say that means it's discontinued.  The EDU mini  doesn't support all the same cores as the original EDU. The mini is limited to ARM Cortex cores (eg., no ARM7, ARM9 or ARM11) and it seems to support RISC-V too.  I'd guess this is probably adequate for it's intended audience.

The legacy EDU occasionally shows up on eBay.  It seems to generally fetch around the same price as an equivalent version J-Link base model. As far as I know the only difference between legacy EDU and the J-Link base model is that the EDU has a license for Segger's flash breakpoints feature (and of course a non-commercial-use-only license).

The mini is actually finally back in stock these days.  Get that.  It works fine.
The Segger value is in the software tools, not the hardware.

For those more lazy than me:

It should be the one Smokey is talking about.
