I am clearing the shelves of projects I am unlikely to ever get to.  I have 20 HP 35665A 8 Channel Input modules for the HP3565 system.  Condition is unknown, some are marked bad.

If someone has a use for them they are yours for the cost of shipping.  I no one wants them I will salvage a few parts and melt them down for aluminum.  Given their original sales price that seems a waste, but I need the room.

Attached is a list of other stuff I am looking to get rid of.  None of it is free, but I will accept surprisingly low offers for any and all of it.  I can package and ship, but shipping costs will be on the buyer.  Equipment list updated 4-30-2020 to reflect equipment already sold.

I have added some low quality photos of the internals of the 355665A modules for those interested.

Key elements of the chip complement include:

Motorola 68000 processor and associated memory and interface.
Burr Brown PCM78P 16 bit A-D converters  (2)
Burr Brown INA110KU Fast Settling Instrumentation Amp ( 8 )
Q2SA-L2-12 Dual Latching SPDT relays    (19)
AD712  3Mhz Dual BiFET OP Amp               (24)
LF444   1Mhz Quad JFET OP Amp               (16)
DG508  Eight Channel Analog Mux              (16)
DG212DY  Quad SPST digital switch (15 Ohm)  (24)
Caddock resistor arrays.

Any interesting parts in those HP 35655A, such as low leakage reed relays?
Hard to find inside pics on the internet, btw.

Updated post with internal pics and partial parts ID.

After several attempts to edit out the smiley quantity on Burr Brown INA110 KU I give up.  The correct quantity is 8.

I don't know how the smiley got there and don't know how to get rid of it.

Thanks for the pics.
Would be quite a waste to dump all these nice analog parts into the dumpster.
If noone wants the boards for parts, I'll take them for shipping. Shipping to Switzerland might be a bit expensive, but I'd guess those parts are worth it.

if i had them
i would have removed the metal shielding and kept all the caddock precision resistors network, and the relays

the shielding must be heavy ?

Shielding and heat sink are about 1500 grams, boards about 750.

There is a taker for the boards for parts - but he and I agree that restoring them to there original purpose would be a higher use.  I will wait another couple of weeks for someone who can use them to show up.

There are some neat parts.  One of the things I will be doing is making a very nice synchronous filter.

What is their original purpose? I did a quick search and wasn't able to find much aside from a few vendors wanting too much money for one.

They are basically a high dynamic range data acquisition module with time synchronized sampling over the channels.  You can find the HP catalog page describing the system, and there is probably an article somewhere in the HP Journals.  I am pretty sure they saw quite a bit of use in the seismic survey world and possibly in sonar.  To put them to work you either have to do a lot of hacking or have the mainframe, a signal processing module and appropriate software package.

An 8 followed by a close bracket is the sunglasses smiley, therefore you put it there yourself...   ::)

A space between them will solve the problem. 8 )

It can be a bit of a nuisance, this one, as 8 followed by ) can't be that uncommon in normal use.

Burr Brown INA110KU Fast Settling Instrumentation Amp (8)

Just need to break up the string that is interpreted as the smiley in a way that doesn't affect the desired result....

It's a cheat, but it works.   ;D

Thanks for the advice on the smiley face.  Obvious in retrospect, but I spent quite a while going in circles without progress.

Like AVGresponding I am surprised I haven't run into this problem before.  Seems like the offending character strings wouldn't be that uncommon.

The free modules are gone, but quite a bit of the other stuff remains.
