I am sorry, but I do not understand what you mean. Do you have a (helpful) suggestion as to how to describe it better?

It's not necessary to keep bumping a thread, anyone here will see it if they're interested and if they're not it's annoying to have it keep popping up in the unread posts. If you're not getting any bites you could try posting it on ebay, the buy/sell section on this forum is not very active and most people are looking for bargains. While cool, an old analog lab is kind of a niche item.

This kit is still available.

I have been a longstanding, good forum citizen and I intend to remain so. I have spoken with the forum administrator. As I understand it, a bump once per month is acceptable.

In like kind to concerns regarding too much bumping, I ask that you do not make comments about me following this policy, because it just causes me to have to check on posts that are not related to selling the kit.

I am glad/relieved that we have the bumping issue resolved; I care enough that it actually bothered me.

Hardly worth the cost to ship....even if it was free.

Suggest to donate to a local college or museum or go to a Ham Radio Flea market.

Or try Craigs List

Which moderator "approved" this? Because it wasn't me.

This! If someone is looking for this particular item, they will find it in search results. If you aren't getting any bites, either no one is interested or your price is wrong.

I ask that you do not make comments about me following this policy, because it just causes me to have to check on posts that are not related to selling the kit.

As per your OP, if people are interested in the item, they will send you a PM. All topics/posts are open to all to comment on as they see fit.

Also, please don't report negative comments just because you disagree or you suspect it may impact your sales. We won't be removing posts simply because you don't like what has been said.

I would like to dispute this part (sorry). If I'm looking for something I don't do a search - I will check back a page or maybe two, but not an actual search. Reason being that anything found is probably gone by now, and if it ain't there's a reason why. On the other hand, something popping up reminds me that I didn't know I wanted that thing but now I do...

Regarding repeats, the first time I might be tempted but put it off for some reason and then forget about it, so a quite delayed repeat might get me in different circumstances and this time it might seem a better bargain. Particularly if the price has changed. Also, I imagine EEVBlog gets many new users who weren't here six months ago and will see this for the first time.

Having said that I agree that after 10 adverts you gotta face the fact that no-one here is going to take it and a donation to a worthy cause would be an ideal end for it.

Yeah I don't think there's anything wrong with an occasional bump, especially if there was discussion of a pending sale and then that fell through. I agree though, if it's been this long and bumped this many times, it's pretty clear that nobody here is interested. As I mentioned quite some time ago, the buy/sell section on this forum is not really very active and most people seem to be looking for bargains on professional gear. I think this suitcase lab thing is pretty cool but it's not something I personally have any use for, the asking price may be fair but I would not consider it a bargain, I doubt a professional engineer is going to want it, but it could be a handy thing for a kid or hobbyist. It's big and bulky though so shipping is going to be expensive unless you can find a local buyer.

Ebay is much more likely to lead to a sale of something esoteric like this due to the enormous audience, or even craigslist since that will cater to local buyers who can pick it up. Members of this forum are spread all over the world and the cost of international shipping is going to immediately exclude anyone outside of the USA. Pulling a number out of the air I would guess there are probably only around 10 active members here in a given geographical location.

I agree with the comments above and I understand not everyone uses the search function (I don't).

However bumping a thread 10 times in 8 months is a bit much.
Either lower your asking price (or ask for offers) or as jonpaul suggested, perhaps consider a donation.

Exactly right.
