Hello,
I got a quote from Fischer Connectors about the plug for some Solartron DMM.
Please see the attached screenshot below.
The quote is for a minimum of 10 plugs and If there are enough people interested,
I'll order them (will keep two for myself).
Here are the details (all prices in EUR including 19% VAT):
plug (S104-A053-130+): 35,09
shielded cable clamp: 6,38 (this is for a cable with 5mm diameter)
total: 41,47
I'll send the plugs via DHL (German Post) and I'll add the shipping costs to the plugs.
Payment via PayPal or banking transfer (SEPA).
Fischer claims a lead time of 3 weeks (order received).
If you have further questions, remarks etc. please let me know here.

Since you chose the 5mm clamp, do you already have cables picked out for using with these? Which ones?
I looked around and found these two:
-Belden 83322E-0091000
-Belden 83351E-0091000
The problem is that they are difficult to come by in short lengths, the smallest length you can buy from major distributors is 100 foot reels. I found on some forum that Anixter (https://www.anixter.com/en_uk/) sells shorter lengths of specialized cables like these, so I sent them an invoice for 5 feet of each, let's see what price they offer.
I might be interested in two of these sets, provided I figure out which cable I could use with them.

No, I don't have any cables right now. The 5mm clamp was only a guess of mine.
What do you suggest as a diameter for the clamp? 4mm?
I think, the price should be the same.

I have, finally, had a quotation from Fischer UK; see attached image. After the "right" person replied to my request, it took 7 days to issue the quotation.
The essence of the quotation is:
- each plug+clamp costs £40.83 including 20% tax (currently EUR46) - compared with Andreas' quotation of EUR41.47
- orders less than GBP250 have post and packing of £18 including 20% tax
- hence the total cost of one connector would be £58.83 (EUR67.12)
- seven or more connectors are required to eliminate the £18 post and packing charge; we have that volume
Conclusion: excluding post and packing from Germany to UK, it is cheaper for me if Andreas buys them (1off £59 vs £37, or 2off £100 vs £73).
Andreas, do you have a quick estimate for packing and shipping (plus your time) to the UK? (For comparison, shipping alone UK to Germany looks like £6-£10, or EUR7-EUR15).
I assume that there would be neither import duty nor VAT since the UK is (still) in the EU. If anybody knows better than me, please let us know!

The cheapest option I've found is sending the plugs with a DIN A-5 jiffy bag via German Post . This will cost EUR 3,70 to Great Britain.

If I'm sending them to countries in the EU, there will be no import duties nor any addational VAT. AFAIK.
Dave is using Welectron in Germany to send all the 121GW meters to the EU countries, which is a very similiar case, imho.
And GB is still a member in the EU.

I have ordered today 10 pieces of the plugs and 10 pieces (5mm) of the clamps.
Now I'm waiting for the confirmation of the order.
Will let you know, when the order has been confirmed by Fischer.
I'll ask them about the delivery date as well and let you know.

I received yesterday the invoice from Fischer and I paid it today.
Please see the attached screenshots.
I assume that the connectors will be delivered in week 25 (around June, 21st).

think i will change mine for a 5pin xlr socket,they should fit the front of the meter ok and are cheap,better than binding posts i think.

remember xlrs are only rated for 50V,even though the same thing had a 250v rating until the elf n' stazi brigade decided on a 50v limit for certain connectors that allowed tool less disconnection.

The DVM is able to measure more than 250V, sound like a crap choice IMO, along with anything from landfillexpress, buy cheap buy twice....
