I don't even know why I am bothering to reply to this, but I know most of us are happy to pay the prices on Digikey and Mouser due to their reputation.  They have established themselves as reputable suppliers and we know that we will receive quality legit components.  I know at least for myself I only order parts from China or random suppliers like yourself if it is an older obsolete part that I just cannot find anywhere else.

There are people who love to have an adrenaline rush, performing extreme and dangerous activities.

Examples include BASE jumping, parasailing, free-diving and ordering from random far east dealers.

EDITED: per suggestion, replaced the word “suppliers” with “dealers”.

Far East or wherever -- who would order from a supplier who does not even have a website and a catalog, but only a Whatsapp number? Those are not called "suppliers" but "dealers" in my book, and I would expect them to sell other wares than electronic components...

I trust LCSC so far, and they're also much cheaper than digikey, mouser, farnell and RS.

In some cases I'm prepared to pay the higher price but not always. The chinese manufacturers buy in china, because they have built up knowledge about who is reliable - but those well known western distros are charging you for their stock levels, their ability to sell you 1 or 1000, etc. This is especially true of RS who are really only sensible for prototypes and engineering jobs, not manufacture.

I agree about whatsapp. I have no interest in communicating via social media. Though a legit chinese supplier is quite likely to use Wechat. Perhaps the OP thinks it's the western equivalent but imho it's just another Meta sinkhole.

LCSC seems to be a pretty reliable source, I agree.  But in their case they are pretty transparent about stuff and have been working on their reputation to make sure people trust them.  They also are affiliated with JLCPCB, who has a pretty good reputation, so its not like they came totally out of nowhere.

I agree. But the point is, not all chinese suppliers are cheaper because they're dodgy. For some reason, parts there are often less expensive. I would say LCSC are less likely to have old stocks and other profit-eating things that the western suppliers offer, and they have profit margins that maintain that ability - whether you need it or not.

The OP may or may not be a reliable source. Low prices and chinese location doesn't prove it either way.

I started using LCSC during the chip shortage, when jellybean stuff like LDOs and RS485 transceivers were unobtanium from Digikey etc. I'm still using them for those, as well as connectors- knockoffs of JST XH/PH at a fraction of the price, pluggable terminal blocks, SMD inductors and lots of other stuff.
Only downsides have been poor website search, and longer / slightly unpredictable delivery times, and some non-optimal packaging - tubes sticky-taped to buggery, and the odd crushed cut tape.
Youtube channel:Taking wierd stuff apart. Very apart.
Mike's Electric Stuff: High voltage, vintage electronics etc.
Day Job: Mostly LEDs
