Hi guys. What do you think of Iwatsu SS-7606 4 channel 60MHz oscilloscope.Since I'm quite the noob , I think it would be more than enough for me.But I'd like to hear your opinions anyway.By the way it is same as SS-7610 except 7610 is a 100MHz oscilloscope to my knowledge.

If it is a good price, go for it. One of the problem with Japanese brands is that it can be impossible to get manuals, but that is not the case with this scope - there is a really excellent service manual available.

The site is a bit weird, so if you need the manual and have a problem getting it, I can send a copy.
The Operation Manual is at

The Operation Manual is for the 7607 which is identical, except it has some extra functions that the 7606 does not have.
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply Richard.I already have the oscilloscope and the manual in print.I have some experience with scopes, both analogs and digitals from the courses I took in college. What I am really wondering is that for a starter like me , would the 60MHz bandwidth be a serious constraint ?

Including the service manual?

60MHz is a very useful bandwidth. It is, of course, possible to do projects needing more bandwidth, but 60MHz is fine for most work. 4 channels makes it particularly good, so I would be pretty happy with a scope like that.

I have both operation and introduction manual but I don't seem to have the service manual.
I am pretty happy with my oscilloscope,it is old but pretty neat and does not seem to have many problems.Nevertheless it is good to have something to observe signals and such while I am working on my school projects.
