They had a warehouse clearance sale just a couple of months ago - but this would appear to be next level.

Will be interesting to see just how different.

I went this morning, already busy with palet loads being wheeled out !
No obvious test gear, broken or otherwise that I saw apart from some generic clamp meters.
For me though the real gem were the boxes and boxes of Mean Well power supplies in 12V, 24V, and some 48V etc in various current capacities and form factors.
Basically  $1 to $5
The odd multimeter or 2 or 3 or 4...or........can't remember !.

I noticed the sale mentioned on another site yesterday and suspect a lot of the stuff will end up on Ebay or Gumtree.   :(

Sorry.  SWMBO gave me a limit of 1 cubic foot of stuff that I was allowed.  I'd already pushed that limit, so no room for a Dave.  Besides, I think Mrs EEVblog, Sagan and Huxley might have had something to say about that.

For me though the real gem were the boxes and boxes of Mean Well power supplies in 12V, 24V, and some 48V etc in various current capacities and form factors.

Yes.  There were cartons and cartons of them.  I came across some - from tiny 5V 5A ones up to 24V 20A and a couple of 48V ones too, I think.  Dave was similarly impressed and was thinking about getting a carton of each type.  I left just as he was getting into his shopping after packing up the camera.  Will be interesting to see what he walks away with.

It seems the new Jaycar warehouse will be at Eastern Creek, and will be using robotic systems.  He told me he was invited to tour the new facility - and I asked if he wanted a cameraman.  ;D

All up, I spent $40.  Pictures to come.

I'd estimate only 10-20% of people there today were electronics people. Most people were getting fridges, inverters, torches, toys and other consumer stuff.
There are a ton of 1000 box resistors, caps, MeanWell PSU's of all types and sizes including DIN, even Arduino Lillypads.

BTW, there is more stuff to come out tomorrow.
And take cash just in cash, they had a major comms outage today and had to send half the building staff home. EFTPOS continued on mobile reception but was sketchy.

Unfortunately, I have work the next two days and wouldn't be able to spend any useful time poking around.  Besides SWMBO barely tolerated what I bought today.  *sigh*

EFTPOS continued on mobile reception but was sketchy.
I normally don't carry cash - and today I nearly had to abandon my acquisitions or find somewhere to get some cash.  Fortunately, they sorted out a way to take my card.  Cash would have been so much easier.

Damn  :( , I had bloody meetings till midday so couldn't get back till after, by then the carcass had been picked clean with nothing much worth bothering with.
Most of the MeanWell PS were gone, although still managed to find a few useful high power ones so not a complete wash out.

I suspect most of the warehouse is now empty.

I feel SO lucky that it's at the other end of the world!  :phew:  Just watched the video footage and I'm sure I would get home with a lot of stuff to fill the non-existing storage space...

I did see one guy in the Meanwell supplies frantically on the phone with someone who was checking specs. Seemed like he was about to pounce on a lot of them. But there were still heaps there when I left just after midday.

Missed it today, got there and it had just closed.  For those (like me) without a Facebook account: they're apparently open 8:30AM to 4:30PM.

Hoping to score just one power supply tomorrow morning, if I'm lucky and there are any left.  I think the one that came in my cheap 3d printer is on the flake, it has tripped my RCD twice and my mainboard ATMEGA resets whenever I turn other nearby appliances off at the wall.
