Does anyone have a scope to sell to a beginner? Low budget.

Here is a bold suggestion:

The LeCroy HQ, as well as their manufacturing, is in NYC (Chestnut Ridge, to be precise). You could just mosey up there and see if they have an old scope sitting around that the might give you for a good price.

may as well find a working unit of latest model that was meant for testing and R&D. a good communication with internal, find a proper "buddy", may give you the production unit at much cheaper price (buy direct from factory, or... internal affair :P)
