ThermApp Ophir 19mm lens - inviting offers for this new lens
« on: October 27, 2020, 06:26:14 pm »
I thought I would provide readers of this forum first dibs on a very nice lens that I am looking to rehome.

I am offering a ThermApp 19mm lens made for their series of cameras. The lens is made by Ophir and a datasheet is available for it. I will add a datasheet shortly.

This lens is used in the ThermApp but is sold as a generic lens by Ophir so will suit other cameras  :-+

A quality lens like this does not come cheap and they currently retail at around 450 Euros ! And that is only if you can find stock now that ThermApp appear to have turned their back on the consumer market.

I attach pictures of the lens. It is brand new and unblemished in its original container.

I am open to offers on this lens as I do not really need it fit properly my current projects. Anyone interested, please get in touch by personal message and we will see if a new home for the lens can be found.

I bought a thread size adapter to use as a camera lens mount and can include this if needed. The lens fit is a little loose though. It would make a good basis for a lens mount in a project however.

I do not bite so feel free to make offers but I am hoping for a reasonable return on this lens. If no takers here, it is going on eBay with a decent start price.

This is an ‘offers’ post so please do not ask me what I want for it  ;) A decent offer gets it, simple as that  :-+

Datasheet that matches this lens :)

The lens description and specification look right but the part number differs as the lens was provided under a supply contract.

I am getting requests for a price on the lens.

I am willing to sell this lens for £200 plus shipping anywhere in the World. Thermal camera lenses, especially decent quality branded ones with a datasheet , are expensive. For anyone with. ThermApp camera, this is a great upgrade to the 6.3mm lens and simple to fit  :-+ For those who do not own a ThermApp, such as the ThermalExpert owners, this lens may be adaptable to your mount and cheaper than the OEM part. The datasheet provides the details you need to use this lens to most modern microbolometers  :-+

I may consider offers below £200 but, to be honest, much less and I may as well keep it as it is a nice lens to have as a project part. On a 12um microbolometer it is telephoto so great for the Seek cameras etc. as a long range lens. I was considering replacing my Seek Reveal Pro lens with it but that project has slipped due to other commitments.

Interesting. The ThermApp Pro 19mm lens looks different.

Edit: Is that germanium?

The Ophir catalogue does not say if the lens uses Germanium. Ophir are a well respected lens manufacture who  can provide several materials for lens elements in order to meet the customers needs.
