Yeah got one, I need a watch.
Also got the radio spectrum analyser.
Good thing the courier normally turns up while my wife's at work.

nice find on the bluetooth one.  I am one of those guys that hasn't worn a watch since I got a cell phone, but I might need to come up with some reasons to wear one again with all these smart watches.

Thanks for the post, just picked one up!

TI seems to really be bringing the bacon lately... big discounts on dev kits and $25 gift card I still have to use :)
It's not always the most popular person who gets the job done.

Stumbled upon these after wandering around the TI site trying to get the spectrum analyzer (the discount code expired). Of course it's now on its way, free shipping to Aus as well!

Damn you TI and your cheap goodies!!!   |O
Not easy, not hard, just need to be incentivised.

Is it free worldwide shipping? If so, it is a pretty sweet deal.

I forgot to check and cant see it easily.

Does anyone know what sort of battery life to expect?

With and without the wireless on.

Hi,

take a look here : http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slau292e/slau292e.pdf , on page 62 Table 4-1.
It depends on more factor than wireless on/off.

I have one for about 6 month. I'm playing with it every two or three days, checking temp, playing with accelerometer, ... and never change the battery.

Regards,
Wedge

The 433 mhz model coupon is not working anymore, I ordered the 868mhz model.

The MetaWatch / SmartWatch is available for 39.99$. This one has bluetooth and a slightly improved look, along with Android and iOS SDKs.

Thanks for the heads up. Too bad it's for the clunky WDS430BT1000AD and not for the spiffy WDS430BT2000D. And incidentally, it's $49.99 ... not $39.99. Just for the hell of it I checked if that code happens to apply to the WDS430BT2000D as well, but alas no.  :'(

this is actually perfect for me.
Teaching my boy to tell the time -
want to hack it to show digital time at push os a button, the idea being he reads the analogue face first then can check it against digital.

My boy has already got ownership of the ez430-chronos that I bought.
I just said he can have it as long as i can play with it occasionally.
He is very impressed with the features, especially the accelerometer, maybe it will get him interesting in programming.

Was that a java app that came with the software? It doesn't really window properly on my machine. Windows 7 64 bit.

For that purpose this watch should be just the ticket. And the accelerometer should enable some extra fun too. :)
