Slight correction: the U version is the one with the safety banana jacks.

There are also some other things missing on the U and E versions, such as the colored 1|2|3 buttons and some other slight color changes, but early batches did have all the colors, which adds to the confusion.

Generally speaking you can software-modify the U and E to match the A.  In my opinion, the extra resolution is of limited use due to a lack of accuracy.  Calibration is only for the skilled & motivated owner.
