Wanted: Flip dot display/matrix to gift Fiancé

Hi!

I am wondering if anyone is selling and flip dot displays/ matrix in Australia, ideally in Victoria. I am looking to get one for my techie fiancé as a Christmas present. He is a software dev and tinkerer (our dining table is unusable due to a 3D printer and soldering iron and various projects he's working on) and he has watched a few videos on flip dots and mentioned how much he likes them.

Ive had a look on Ebay but with shipping costs and conversions it would cost nearly $1000! Im a secondary teacher and cant quite afford that much!

If anyone knows of a more budget friendly way to get my hands on a flip dot matrix, please let me know! I would love to see the excitement on his face Christmas morning if I managed to get one.

I know Dave was interested in a random collection of used ones that a member in Queensland was getting rid of a couple of years ago.  Not sure if he got them or if he would be interested in parting with one if he still has them.

I was toying with the idea of grabbing them, but let Dave have first go.

If you have any other ideas for cool gifts Im open to suggestions! I think I might have outdone myself when I got him the 3D printer for valentines day two years ago and Ive been chasing my tail ever since.

I think there's nothing better than getting a gift that shows someone really knows you.
