WTB: Audio Precision System One - Generator board
« on: July 08, 2022, 03:07:03 am »
Looking for one or more specifically the line transformer on it. I'd be interested in a transformer, a bad board etc. After troubleshooting my S1 I find the transformer is flakey. I lost half the balanced output and can get it back by messing with the transformer mechanically, rapping it etc.

Most likely impossible to get the board or transformers.

Ask old AP  guys like Bruce H or Rich C.

Suggest you carefully inspect the transformer, possibly a corroded termination of winding to pin or terminal.

Bon courage

Thanks. I did just that. Spoke with Duke A who was with AP. Told me about bad joints on the PCB and sure enough that was it.

BRAVO! The pins on bobbins of laminated  transformers take a lot of stress and are often poorly desgned or plated.

Thus a thru hole transformer has a mechanical effect on the solder joints.

The transformers themselves live forever......

Bon Chance
