WTB Keithley 1486 connector, 1506 or 1507 input cable
« on: December 09, 2019, 05:15:04 am »
I'm looking for a Keithley 1486 male connector (matching Keithley 181/182 nano-voltmeter) or 1506 or (preferably) 1507 input cable for same.  Couldn't find them on fleebay, thought someone might have a no longer needed one laying around before I start hacking the meter ...

Now that I fixed the GPIB of my Keithley 181, my interest in the #1486 connector or 1506/1507 input cables is renewed.  There must be some collecting dust somewhere ...

In the USA, you can order this connector at MOUSER

Part Numbers:
97-3106A-16-11P
97-3057-1008-1

I even made my own short with one of them

97-3057-1008-1 couldn't be found right now at mouser, 97-3106A-16-11P is the Amphenol connector which I take has the same geometry as the part from Keithley.  Crucially however, it doesn't use copper pins.  Some reported success in modifying the connector to resemble the original, but if I can get that (for a reasonable price) then I'd prefer that.

Thanks for sharing the part number though.

I also have an original Keithley connector with original cables and paid a none reasonable price.
But in the real world I could not find any difference between the two connectors on the 181.
It might require one more digit to see the influence of the different connectors.

At the time I was also hunting for the original part and could not find one, until one popped up on ebay.
It is well possible, that Amphenol made the all copper connector only for Keithley.
