WTB: Rubber case for Fluke 80 series

Winter has come and it is pretty cold in my lab, my Fluke 85’s are naked and they look very silly because they have cold 

Joking aside, I have 4 Fluke 85’s without rubber case, I got them second hand while ago, I am looking for second hand or new rubber cases, if you have one laying around because your meter is broken or gone just PM me we will talk about the price.

I could buy the new model from a store but I like to try like this first to see if someone got something for me.

If it doesn't have to be a Fluke holster, a few of competition have copied the series 80 multimeter in almost the same dimensions including the holster.

Those look alright there, and its Fluke branded possibly it is fake but I can be wrong to, the thing is I my Chinese is not that good He has some complete 87V housings too and the price is same as the holster that’s just weird.
I think you know the shipment costs from China to Europe countries how much would this cost to ship you think?

By the way I might contact you next month for a UT61E, at the moment I am busy to get couple other meters, I want a UT61E just because they sell good, I want to see it in real and have it in my collection, I am pleased with the pocket one UT10A and insulation tester, was expecting less better quality.

If you want I can talk to the seller and actually help you get them here first and ship to you from where I am (Hong Kong). Shipping will depend on the actual weight (and how many you want) but I reckon it shouldn't cost more than US$3-4 per holster.

They are tough!  Officially the model number is Fluke C10 meter holster.

I think this is one case were a counterfeit or copy would be a good choice, given how expensive it is even used.

Thanks saturation, I got couple other part numbers too, FLUH80M the new case with magnetic strap, and according my Fluke 87 manual C81Y (yellow case) and C81G (grey case) these two are the first models, I don’t know where to get a copy/fake but we will see.

I don’t think we will get same opportunity again. I am subscribed to Fluke 80’s series stuff but I only get mail about the things which are shipped worldwide, so I didn’t see this one either till retiredcaps posted.

The seller's preferred method of shipping might be overwhelmingly expensive outside US. Like in the hundreds of dollars region.

From the seller feedback that I have gotten, it only takes one person worldwide to leave a negative or unreasonably complain about long shipping times or dishonestly claim they never received the item to ruin it for the rest of us.

You are welcome.  I totally regret now selling the older flex holster and keeping the newer one.  The flex stand gave me more viewing angle options and I prefer the slip in probe holders.

BTW, I think your Extech MM570A orange holster will fit the Fluke 80 series.

Thanks again retiredcaps Marshall bought them for me, I got some nice rubber cleaner specially for removing stuff from rubber rollers and it works quite well on these holsters, so I am hoping to get them clean.

You are right about the feedback system, some people don’t have patience and start complaining about shipment issues after a week, mostly those guys are new on Ebay whenever I see a negative feedback on a seller I check the feedback giver and 90% of those have below 10 feedbacks themselves. 

Since 2003 my total negative feedback to others is only two, and both sellers don’t have ebay stores anymore so they where fraud.

And indeed the holster does fit 
First thing what I did when I was taking the video and got rid of the holster I grabbed one of the Fluke 80’s to compare its similarity with the Extech, later I edit that part out.

I got some nice rubber cleaner specially for removing stuff from rubber rollers and it works quite well on these holsters, so I am hoping to get them clean.

I would love to see before and after pictures to see how clean you can get them.  I would also appreciate if you could share some of the cleaners/techniques/tips.

Krivx, I got 5 80’s series one of these 87 have holster so I need one spare and 4 for the 85’s, so there will be one left, when they arrive I will send a PM to you.  I am not sure where you are in Europe.

I am trying to get a 87V second hand for a decent price but mostly those have a holster.

Careful of the Blankrola, it dissolves plastic but does nothing to vulcanised rubber. Rather use some soap and water instead, or a mild ammoniated cleaner.

Thanks for heads up SeanB, I am using a Disko rubber roll cleaner, I do this for years now my meters are clean but I use it on the Flukes we got at work or when I get second hand Fluke with dirty holster, the Fluke 87 in the picture above is one of those it had almost near black holster when I got it 

If the previous owner use a marker that’s bigger problem it goes almost a mm dipper in to the holster and won’t get off.

Krivx, I was just looking closely in to the pictures and only 4 of the original Fluke holsters is usable one older model holster is missing the stand and the right bottom one is not a real Fluke holster.

Marshall thanks a lot, if you didn’t do this for me, there was no way to find 6 Fluke holsters here in the Netherlands.

As I promised before I took before and after photos of the holsters. Cleaning took long time and the holsters are clean maybe not much as I wanted with the marker marks on them, one of them was painted and also the edges where marked with marker, I couldn’t see that before because of the dirt.

I wanted to put them directly in the dishwasher but my wife didn’t like that idea lol, so I had to clean them before I put in the dishwasher, I used a old sponge scrubber, I will post the photo below, I used a old one because a newer one would scratch the holsters. For narrow places like test probe holsters I used a toothbrush with some dish wash fluid called Dreft here. This took me almost 2 hours and then I put the holsters in the dishwasher twice in a row at 55 Celsius (131 Fahrenheit) timer at 1 hour 36 minutes (in total 3 hours 12 minutes)

To be honest dishwasher didn’t make it shine, it didn’t change a lot. Also I took out the stands so those won’t bend at that temperature.

As last I used Disko rubber roller cleaners to make it shine and clean further, see the results below.

This was worse of them all, and it is still worse one, the marker written “SHOP” was explaining everything, it was painted marked on the edges with a marker:


The middle one is my 87 with its OEM holster, it is never cleaned like these, it is there for color reference, second one from left was marked with “SHOP” as I mentioned and you can still see the marker residue on the edges, roller cleaner took most off but not all:


At least they are warm and cozy now
