WTB: Tip-heated soldering station with tweezers
« on: January 31, 2023, 06:02:50 am »
I've been spoiled with the Weller WX2021N at work and want to get something decent for  home use. Must have the heating element inside the tips (not sure what the terminology is) and I am also looking for a set of soldering tweezers. Seems like very few postings for soldering equipment show up here, so I'm open to suggestions for good irons I can check out. Preferably a full setup for the $500 range rather than the $1500 range. Looks like I can piece something together from Hakko for around $1000. But the bottom line is I'm not opposed to checking out lesser known brands as long as the tips are high quality. Which when I was visiting the topic about 5 years ago, the consensus pretty much was you can skimp on the power supply and hand pieces as long as the tips and heating elements were good. Everything else is just a matter of safety, power, and ergonomics, but they're not gonna affect your joint quality too much unless something blows up.
