I wondered this for a while too.
I strongly suspect it is Dave (logged off) having spied a thread that he wants to keep an eye on, with the view to posting an answer if an apropriate one is not forthcoming.

I've wondered that too. I doubt it is Dave though. I can't see an option in the forum account settings for ordinary users to hide their online presence. Maybe it is an historic setting once made available but no longer.

I set mine a while ago but I looked again and can't find it so probably so.

Well guess what.... none of us are the only Administrator on the Forum and Dave will have Profile settings we don't even know about.

There's an option to remain "hidden" in some people's profile options. It's an option that can be turned on/off for specific user types by the forum admins/Dave. It can also be applied to bots.
