(Wildly OT) Looking for royalty free fonts?

Afternoon guys,
I'm wondering if any of you have bookmarked any favourite sites for acquiring royalty free fonts? Googling for this is like googling for health or accommodation advice; a gajillion shit results.
Would you mind sharing if you have something?

When our kids were little they used MS Publisher for all the wacky fonts they needed and a quick Google shows there's some free versions available.
Maybe one of the Clipart packages has something that'll turn you on.

I have used
www.dafont.com
a few times. They have fonts that are free for personal use, 100% free, ones that invite a donation to the author and so on.
The fonts are arranged in categories and have a filter:
Occasionally there are some comments that might be worth a read ... Some people seem to have the occasional problem - but I haven't (as yet).

I also downloaded a font to do some graphic work for Dave. It wasn't on dafont and I don't recall where I grabbed it.

Some fonts are available here. I think they are open source but am not sure. You will need to check if the terms fit your need.

You are right. The whole font thing is a morass. Often you are trying to match a font for a restoration or a model. Font identification sites can be a help here, though I often am frustrated here too.
Try things like
http://www.identifont.com/
Once you have a name for a font you still have the problem of finding a reliable source. I have used dafont more than others, but have no real recommendations.

Thanks guys.
dafont will be good enough.
identifont is kind of interesting. I have scripting off, but I've seen a v. similar, cool place that identifies fonts by image. Maybe it's the same joint.
