Surplus/Component stores along US 95 - New England

Hello everyone,

I live in Canada, but I have family that lives in the Boston, MA area, and when I visit them I am always wondering if there are any interesting surplus stores or even just brick and mortar stores that sell electronic components/parts/gear, that one could visit, you know, to see what they have on their clearance bin   

I usually travel south starting US 95 from Houlton, Maine, and aside of Boston, the other larger cities along the way are Portland and Bangor in Maine, and Portsmouth in New Hampshire.

My guess is that in the Boston greater metropolitan area, given the greater density of large corporations and Universities, is where the majority of this kind of stores would be.

I would appreciate any suggestions you may have.
