HP 3456A display errors (E1)

Hello there,

I have a problem with the HPIB interface my instrument. Sometimes when I am trying to read from it, it displays the error E1 on the display.

I have seen these kinds of errors in the past, for example when I enter an invalid value into one of the registers. I could not find a table in the manual about what all these errors mean, but perhaps one of the other 3456a owners on the forum has a reference?

See table 3-1 on page 3-4 of the 03456-90004 operating and service manual. I'm sure there's a similar table in other versions of the manual.
