Interesting random you tube find. For pandemic watching. |

Gosh that is amazing. And we think our equipment has high voltages. Wow. I am surprised he could go inside there without getting zapped. I wonder if it is that safe when operating? |

Shockingly good, thanks. :palm: ;D Ever since I was a child, the sight of these places and the knowing of what's inside and how lethal it is, and that it could JUMP!!! out and kill you in a millisecond, together with not knowing where's safe to walk and where isn't, gives me a very healthy reverential fear of them, ensuring you'd NEVER catch me inside the fence of one. It's like a sense of impending dread and reverential fear, if that makes sense? Interesting, but no thanks!! |

I used to work in high voltage. 345kV will jump about 1ft. t depends on the geometry; a sharp spike will make a greater distance. But there is no danger walking about underneath like the guy is doing. Funny thing is that you can have a 2" diameter insulated cable carrying 440kV RMS. I see that not far from where I live, where the overhead line goes underground, briefly. Great video :) |
