"Poll Shows Giant Gap Between What Public, Scientists Think"

Interesting, isn't it?

Quote
Scientists are far less worried about genetically modified food, pesticide use, and nuclear power than is the general public, according to matching polls of both the general public and the country's largest general science organization. Scientists were more certain that global warming is caused by man, evolution is real, overpopulation is a danger and mandatory vaccination against childhood diseases is needed.

That made life so much tougher for some faithfuls, :)

I like this one too:

Quote
Eighty-seven percent of scientists said global warming is mostly due to human activity, while only half of the public did.

87%? Only 87%?

What happened to the often quoted 98% figure? More importantly, what happened to the 11% scientists who believed in global warming then but not now?

Did they lose their scientists accreditation?

:)

Blatant Troll

"Eighty-seven percent of scientists said global warming is mostly due to human activity, while only half of the public did. The figures for scientists are slightly different than past academic studies because of wording of the question and the fact that AAAS members include many specialties, but they tell the same essential story, said Pew associate director Cary Funk."

No, this is called flamebait. He's trying to start another stupid pissing match, not randomly annoy people.

Anyone who bites gets today's "jackass" award. Otherwise, dannyf can keep it all to himself.

It says why in your own article:
Quote
The figures for scientists are slightly different than past academic studies because of wording of the question and the fact that AAAS members include many specialties, but they tell the same essential story

The wording of questions can bias results in either direction.  Without seeing how the question here was worded versus how previous questions have been worded, it's impossible to answer definitively.

As above, this is obvious flamebait.  I'm surprised you're still allowed to post this crap over and over again.
