So recently I took delivery of a Rigol DS1102E, I'm quite happy with it and it appears to work well.

One thing I noticed that when booting up, all LEDs in the 3x2 "MENU" area glow... except the "storage" button. It's constantly dark, even if you press it while running. Seems kind of strange to me. Is it a known defect? Are any other glowing buttons giving faults on other DS1000E scopes?

Not a big deal (scope is still completely usable), but would be interested to hear if anyone else has reported this issue.

I got it from a UK distributor with a 3 year warranty so I'm not worried about having to send it back for more serious faults.

yes the storage button is supposed to glow.

i am guessing a bad solder joint on that led on your scope.

I think this confirms it. I just pressed it, and it flickered a bit. Maybe some production lakey was half-asleep and didn't notice the LED self-test when powered up... or maybe they don't test them at all. Who knows...
