In Finland DHL charges you 24,80 euros for doing the customs paperwork for you (on top of that you pay 24% VAT). That is fine, but it you want to declare the goods by yourself (the customs office runs an online service for that), DHL charges you the exact same amount for giving you the information you need to do the declaration (warehouse codes etc.). This is the reason I avoid DHL whenever I can.

Courier companies are just a little bit less scummy than those "moving companies" that helpfully charge you very little for the moving, but a lot to remove the lock on the truck that magically appeared halfway through the drive!

(They stop for "gas" where an associate slaps on a lock.)
