AD swallows MAX
« on: August 31, 2021, 02:04:55 pm »
Wow AD acquired Maxim. Is this a good thing? I've no love for MAX but they have some smart engineers.
The market narrows again of course. Let hope TI doesnt eat them all.

Oh, the "whys" of the datasheets... The information is there not to be an axiomatic truth, but instead each speck of data must be slowly inhaled while carefully performing a deep search inside oneself to find the true metaphysical sense...

It's new old news because the deal was finalized and announced as official this week.  At least I won't have to worry about visiting the incorrect Maxim website and hitting the corporate naughty blockers anymore.

Ha! That has already happened to me too!

But back to the original post: Yes the market is narrowing. Long term I ignore whether this will be either good or bad news. Ignore which competing devices could be discontinued.
At least ADI appears to have respected Linear Tech’s culture and portfolio. Please note that I have said: It appears.
