« on: November 27, 2017, 05:04:23 pm »
Hi All,

Since these IC's are pretty expensive (~ > 10 USD Mouser, etc.).

Big change these are fake  (~ 6 USD)? https://www.ebay.nl/itm/1pcs-AD584JH-IC-Integrated-Circuit-Analog-Device-IC-CAN-8/252362933940

Thanks!

You are risking them being fake, or second hand unsoldered from old equipment. Which at least one of the feedbacks, complains about.

e.g. (Neutral feedback):
Quote
THE IC WERE DESCRIBED NEW. THEY HAD SOLDERING MARKS ON THE PINS. WORKED FINE THO

Looks like second hand part.
You should really carefully check received part that it has not soldered before. Because it can change critycal parametrs because of incorrect soldering.
If you will got ic with SOLDERING MARKS ON THE PINS when it describes like new you can get money back from seller.

You can always go down 1 grade, or in DIP and get brand new ones for 7-8$.
But I believe you want the to accuracy one...

Should be ok if it works, also, as said, if it IS advertised and new and has solder marks then claim your money back (IN FULL). ! In the event of an issue with ebay, I NEVER send anything back without full insurance and tracking / signed for. If the item is faulty or not as described then the seller pays ALL costs. Sellers are unlikely to pay for the cost of return (I also insist on it in - in full - advance). They end up refunding the item and not paying for a return. If you open a case with Ebay make sure you add images. If it IS ex equipment you will end up with it for free if the seller states it is new. Win WIn. ANY seller who says 'buyer pays return postage' when it is their fault is breaking ebay rules. Tell them to go and whistle.

Also, just checked AD and it's not even available for sample on the normal channels, it is specific request only so no route there. (If you are registered with AD there are some VERY nice references available for sample.) . The only ones you will struggle getting a sample of is anything developed for MIL use.
It is almost certainly kosha. If ex equipment get it for free. People shouldn't advertise ex equip' as new.  :-//

Hello,

afaik AD uses exclusively laser marking for their devices.
https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/86066/how-to-identify-counterfeit-analog-device-products

And the nose (Pin8-marker) is at the wrong position with respect to the printing. (already discussed here: )
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/metrology/are-cheap-ad584-units-worth-it/msg898716/#msg898716

So I guess for that price it is only a pulled (perhaps with lead extensions) and re-printed device.

By the way: the german job lot dealer (Pollin) has the devices for 1.95 EUR + shipping

with best regards

Andreas

If it is an old stock, they likely won't be laser marked. Most of plastic package counterfeits are laser marked as well.

Thanks! Never heard of them, until now  :-+

the difference is that they are not "new" but "NOS".
