ADVICE REQUEST - will my passion for electronics disappear?

<< < (9/9)

Psi:
I do find as i get older the electronics i want to 'tinker' with narrows in focus.
When you're young you want to play around with everything electronic and build things that really have no real use.
As you get older you lose interest in that sort of general tinkering and instead want to work on making specific stuff.

But It's easy to confuse that desire with 'working' because they're very similar.
And once you confuse the two you start to see tinkering as 'work'.

So you need to find some project that will produce something useful that you actually want for yourself, not to sell for money.
Once you have that you will want to tinker on it again. The trick is finding that sort of thing.

For me it is home automation. I want to sequence everything that goes on in the house and control it with code.

The original poster clearly has far greater problems, than losing his passion for electronics.

It sounds like a classic example of falling in lust. If you've already done the deed and want to stay with your wife, don't tell her and don't do it again. If you want to get with the younger woman, then think about what you stand to lose.
