Found my first multimeter... Radio Shack Micronta 22-211A
« on: January 22, 2017, 05:25:08 am »
While rummaging through boxes to try and clear space, I found a cache of my old electronics things. Among them, my original multimeter, a Micronta 22-211A. I probably purchased it 1986-1988.

I had to set my power supply to 10.07 volts to get the Extech to read 10.00VDC, but the Micronta agrees with several progressivley cheaper multimeters, so...who knows.

My grandfather has something like that.

The irony is that he purchased it new about a year ago.

Cool find either way! My DMM collection is a bit poo (I have one with a broken segment on the display. :P)
I forget who I am sometimes, but then I remember that it's probably not worth remembering.

That's the one I have. I still use it. :)

I have a 22-203. Bought when I started electronic studies in (I think) 1982.
Appreciate the original test leads and the 100mV error on the 3V range.

Nice.  I'm hoping to run across the original leads somewhere. They were not in that box...but I'm sure I didn't throw them away.

This one's going back into the rotation. It works, and sometimes it's nice to see a needle and a scale instead of a digital readout.

Got a Micronta 22-214A here in active service. Good meters. Very sensitive. 50k/volt. Had this since about 1987 I think.

Needs a service as the movement is a bit floppy and it's difficult to get an accurate FSD at different orientations.

Got one of those myself.  Cannot for the life of me remember when I got it.  88-90?  I taught myself to program at the local Radio Shack on a TRS-80 Model 3.
