Altium 19 startup splash - how could you mount to the hole?
rfleming:
How could anyone mount to this hole? The bolt head/standoff width or even pcb mount clips would likely hit either the (what looks like a) diode or even the DC barrel TH part.
ataradov:
It may be just a locating hole or a hole to pass the stand from the case that ties two parts of the enclosure. The connectors on all sides would make the enclosure design a nightmare, so a screw hole may not have fit with the design.
voltsandjolts:
It's a bug ;)
Infraviolet:
Compared to the size of parts around it, it is pretty big for a screw hole. Rarely does one have a need for the strength of large screw to hold down a PCB, M2, M2.5 or M3 is almost always adequate. So I'd tend to agree with ataradov's idea that is is a hole for a plastic pillar to go through.
Someone:
Or more likely... some arbitrary assembly directed by a graphic designer.
