Am I missing something or is sorting by price in Digikey broken?
(1/1)
ksoviero:
I've noticed that when I'm searching for parts on Digikey, if I sort by price it doesn't seem to work. It will "mostly" be sorted by price but there will be a few out of order. Given how simple sorting by price is from a database query perspective, I can't imagine they fucked that up and I must be missing something.
Here is an example of what I mean:
Note that the first one listed is $1.51 while six down there is one listed for $0.90. That doesn't track...
So, am I missing something here?
Here is the search I'm running: https://www.digikey.com/short/vftrbwzf

Yes, it is broken like this, it is not you.
We already tried to figure out how they managed to screw that up, but none of the theories made any sense.
You can try to report this to them, they say they fix the issues. But they clearly have not fixed this since last time it came up.

They're using Agile methodology to develop the website, so expect it to be broken in new and interesting ways at whatever their deployment interval is. The quality of the work we've seen so far suggests that anything they do manage to fix will come along with something else being broken.
Peabody:
I found that Digikey search in general worked better if I was signed in.
Whales:
I've had this on element14 before too. I assume it's intentional sponsored placement (it only seems to happen with big-brand parts). Really annoys me.
