Probably the single most predictable deal in the history of the semiconductor industry, after Intel bought Altera.

Assuming the deal is successful, what is the chance of AMD putting out the bin fire that FPGA tooling is?

Almost none.

Although I must say Intel acquiring Altera was not that bad. I don't think they make anything much worse, and some things improved.

AMD seems like a decent company, I doubt they will do anything drastic.

Maybe it's more about Intel doing bad things to them?
