That's pretty cool, amazing looking room. There is a lot of idiocy in the audiophile world but a lot of it I look at as art, it's not that different than spending a ton of money building a custom hotrod car, I mean what's the point? It looks cool, it's fun, that's about what it comes down to. I've seen people spend tens of thousands of dollars on paintings or jewelry that doesn't even do anything, at least audio gear is functional, even if the thing that differentiates it from much less expensive gear is mostly cosmetic/artistic craftsmanship. I'm not an audiophile or a hot rodder or an art collector but to each their own.
