Analog Devices' $21B Maxim buy set for EU approval
(1/1)
floobydust:
If approved, I dislike mega-conglomerates scooping up independents. Afterwards, they struggle with portfolio duplicates, rebranding datasheets, redoing the website into a slow cow, laying off "redundant" staff that was actually useful and essential to the acquired brand, oh yeah and the price hikes to return immediate value to shareholders.
I miss National Semiconductor and Linear Tech :'(
European Commission scheduled to decide on the bid by March 31, 2021.

This acquisition can only be a good thing. Maxim parts can finally be bought 8)

Well, if they fire the management and sales team (effective immediately) than I'm not sure if this is a bad thing.
Maybe we can buy more from maxim than MAX232 without excuses on how its obsolete, they never had it, it was never going into production, it was only uploaded to the website to try the waters, and MOQ is a million.
