Oh lord. I thought my Frankenstein conversion of a shitty rusted up SIP Migmate 120 to a MG15 Eurotorch was bad  At least I have an apron and gauntlets, not to mention an auto dark welding mask!

(PS: If converting your hobby MIG welder, do not go for a 4 or 5M Eurotorch, get the smallest 3M - you will thank me!)

I'm subscribed to that youtube channel. Occasionally they do a subtitled video, but usually the auto-captioned, auto translated captions are enough to follow along.

Having worked as a welder, I can tell you that I would never weld on my knees... that is an open invitation to spatter balls getting wedged between the floor and your knee cap causing a burn. Your boot won't care about the spatter balls on the other hand.
