Classic FUD.
Gotta keep the citizenry scared shitless so they'll turn a blind eye to the cost of the military industrial complex at the expense of their own country and freedom  ::)

The US military is a great place for EE though.  Most of my friends have permanent careers since graduation as its need constantly change and evolves, great for pure designer work.  For the most part, its lifelong job security.  Better than NASA.  Harder for contractors from the private sector like Boeing, as it depends on contracts.

after Bin Laden got murded Iran said "USA have no reason to be anylonger active in this world region",
well and that's why they now looking for reason to stay there.

It could be much cheaper to stay in Texas and hunt the real terrorist, but in Texas everybody have anyway
enough weapons so not a good deal for military industry.

Yes, they are stable jobs, but the contractors do most of the real design work.  Engineers hired by the govt. mostly do stupid meetings and filling out paperwork (contractor shall.......)

My dad wants me to join him working for the govt.  (he's a civil service ME, after 20 years of being in the military as an engineer and pilot) but I say that I put up with too much BS as it is.

example:  A study must be done to see if system "X" can be tested with the "standard tester."   Once it is proven that the "standard tester" can't test system "X" they should be done, right?  Wrong.  The all day meeting must continue to evaluate other aspects of "system x."

Yes, there is a predominant test and evaluation lean but life there is mostly stress free, you could say its boring, but the engineers have a ball playing with so many toys ... you are paid lower though.  All the stress is with the contractors trying to please gov't engineers ;)

The tell tale sign is in decade long careers at the same office and stress-less, non-rushed appearance compared to the constipated look of civilian contactors: working from project to project, deadline after deadline, having no future beyond the end of the contract, and worried whether the next contract will ever appear.

Yes, the stress free aspect is tempting.  I'd say my current job is about the same, really.  a bit less BS, a bit more real engineering.  It's complicated by the fact that I could change to a purely electronic/electrical job, however.

I know contractors that love it, but the worry would get to me.  I suppose if one were inclined not to settle down and to be able to move around, it would be great.

Sorry, all, for going off the main topic.

There is always the real reason, the fact that oil is the cheapest source of energy and the US is one of the greatest consumers of oil.

In Texas, we have more weapons then anywhere else in the USA.  Even from the early days of the Republic of Texas, there were more guns than citizens.

One other thing, they found a lot of oil in south Texas, but I think China jumped in and bought most of the rights to it.  Guess we will buy it from them now.

blah, something like that can only happens in USA, everywhere else in the world you can have/get sex (no matter with whom and where)
without going to be fraked by law, that's another one example why Osama not likes US.
Actually hard to understand, why USA are so strange, probably because most of americans no believe in God.
As a good muslim/christi you will normaly follow what God said spread your "seed" as much you can, actually even as pagan
you will do it because human beings/animals are suppose to do it!

So what the hell wrong with americans?

yes there is proper way to do it. and i was not aiming at the representative of americans, i believe the citizen is as good meaning as other people around the world. only the problem with the management DH people up there. looking at the citizenship, the late manager aka molester is a france born.

definition of "proper way" might differ, think about Mantis !

What?  I would say most americans do believe in god.  Just sounds like you have never been to america to me.

actually not that often, in last ~15yrs about 8 -10 times, however i do have office in NA because
of my daily business/customers there, therefore I have more than enough to do with americans to know,
who they are, what they are and what they try to be.

In all these years i met * hundreds of americans, and to be very honest each time they visiting Europe
they totally changing - from whatever they are @home to really "worse" - no matter what company
position, religious confession or gender they have. I don't have issues on that, because i'm not that
much better, however i'm always the same person.

So do not take it personally, that's only my personal impressions.

There are a lot of news surrounding this, but there are a lot that readers here do not realised.  This head terrorist was killed unarmed and half awake in his sleeping clothes.  He was used as a figure to unite a severely divided and financially broke nation, my U.S.A.  America has spent over a $ trillion USD to hunt down the head terrorist that betrayed the U.S. since the Afghan War to harass the Russians and tempt them into fighting Afghanistan War.  Many innocient Pakistani have been tortured or attacked by covert Seals and Rangers and drone and cruise missiles.  Eventually, over a ten years period, the head terrorist was found and shot half awake at night.  The fears stem from the personal computers retrived from his fortress house.  It is very likely that the Pakistani government cooperated in his capture and execution.  Opinions around the world, my U.S. broken the law.  My President ordered an execution of a man, the head terrorist without a trial, even though this straw man or icon of hate is guilty.  Americans post flags all over to celebrate his execution, even the church has a huge American flag.  The war unites all Americans to fight and observe the terrorists and unites us to forget about our collapsed currency and economy.  It unites us to forget about freedom and depression, but to be vigilant and watchful of everyone and everything, "heighten security."

What scares stem from the computer captured in the head terrorist's room?
1. trains might be attacked, so we need to be warry and watchful and use it less.
2. oil tankers might be captured or sank in the high seas, so we need a larger navy to be watchful and escort them.
3. large cities might be attack, so we need to visit it less and be watchful, when we are there.
4. nuclear scare is less that Fukushima tsunami damage have caused a Geiger counter shortage.  Ecotest consumer Geiger counter went from $189.00 before the Sendai earthquake and tsunami to $800.00 aftermath, inflation and shortages and fear.
5. More fears upon fears came from the information in the head terrorist's computers.

The helicopters used to sneak into Pakistani air space are not typical.  The engines are heavily insulated to muffle the sound.  The heat built up, because of the insulation in one of the helicopters caused it to over heat and could not fly back.  The Seals decided to scarified it and blown it up into a ball of flames.  The displaced Seals have to double up into remaining helicopters, a larger Boeing Chinhook tandem rotor was used to carry CIA analyist and agents to witness the execution.  While all of this going on, civilian Pakistani Tweeter the world.  The electricity went off precisely during the execution and turned back on afterwards according to civilians interviewed by the BBC.  It is very difficult to hide a large Boeing Chinhook from RADAR.  The Boeing Chinhook and the other sound muffled helicopters are painted with RADAR absorbing materials like iron carbonyl to absorb the radio waves as heat.  Iron pentacarbonyl is made by reacting iron with carbon pentaoxide.  The pigment is used to paint large metallic body airplanes and helicopters to allow it to not give a pronounced RADAR pattern.  The rotors are carbon graphite, not metallic rotors.  There is less a RADAR signature and makes it a challenge to detect.  The material is likely a weak magnetic field material like a paramagnetic, not diamagnetic that gives a strong magnetic field.  The U.S. known that fortress house for awhile, four to six months.  Carriers were interviewed and clues and cues that the head terrorists hidden there.  The U.S. paid Pakistani spies about $10,000. USD to provide information about that fortress.  Replica fortress was built in a military base in the U.S. with help from the CIA and NSC to train the Seals and special covert forces to attack it and reherse the invasion and execution.  The entire mission duplicates Masaad tactics in execution.  The White House originally lied that the head terrorist put up a severe fire fight like the exaggeration of Teddy Roosevelt's march up San Juan Hill in Cuba in the past history.  The U.S. shot an unarmed, untried guilty, head terrorist half awake.  Lots of air photos and planning were used to carry out the mission.  Very likely we were lied that the head terrorists died in the Afghanistan air raids and kidney failure.  There were no kidney machines at that house.  Just a guilty by evidence and unarmed, older man begging for his life was executed, and untried in court; period.  The news exaggerated.  The execution and invasion were planned four to six months, before May 1, 2011.  The U.S. has been attacking Pakistan over this for a decade, ten years.  The head terrorist served no purpose to the U.S., Afghans, or Pakistani, so his time has came to the end.

Like it or not, the world will always be an uneasy place for us all to live.  My U.S. economy collapsed.  Lots of what is on that hard drive is just another anti American fantasy, than actual reality by a man who suffered trauma and mental illness from the U.S. CIA sponsored Afghan Wars with Russia and internal Afghan government.  By being afraid of what is on the head terrorist's computer is to perpetuate his insanity, evil, and envious feelings against the world, my U.S.
