I don't know about the rest of you, but I've been a Telstra customer since I got my first mobile phone in high school and AMPS was still a thing. I remember back then, pre-paid customers could only receive SMS (not send) and when sending was finally turned on, it was the more amazing thing ever (although I could only really SMS one other friend who happened to have a phone at the time). Calls also cost $1.10 per minute and were timed in 30 second increments.
Fast forward to 2016, where Australia's largest, fastest and most expansive network has had not one but two major outages, nationwide, within two months. Today I was without data and experienced call failures from 1758hrs* to around 1930hrs. One, let alone two failures ever of this nature is just unheard of.
A sign of things to come or is there something seriously wrong with the Telstra network?
* This was the last time I had data tonight until now...
