Any EEVBloggers Going to Friedrichshafen?
« on: June 17, 2015, 08:47:21 pm »
Meet you at the Hilberling stand at 3pm on the Saturday. I'll be the guy in shorts and a green t-shirt carrying a black backpack.
Should you find yourself in a chronically leaking boat, energy devoted to changing vessels is likely to be more productive than energy devoted to patching leaks.

Sorry, I don't want to hijack this thread. But I was curious and looked for Hilberling on the web.

I'm stunned.  :-+

That looks like a company with a real passion for their field. You can actually see what they are doing, not one of this meaningless shiny webpages full of PR nonsense-phrases.

Great. If you work for them, you have to be a lucky guy.

Funny...I was just starting to study to get my ham license here.  Literally, in the last day or two.

Maybe I'll go to have a look at the chicks.

If you try and take a cat apart to see how it works, the first thing you have on your hands is a nonworking cat.

Unless you're gay and into old men I think you'll be disappointed!

"Great. If you work for them, you have to be a lucky guy."

I wish!!!

The company makes various products mostly based around RF Engineering or power supplies but the man in charge, Dr Hilberling, used both his own money and the company's money to build the best transceiver that technology will allow. The result is a unit called the PT-8000 which sells for over 18 000 Euro which, unfortunately, is outside the financial abilities of most radio hams.

I shall therefore wait for my lottery numbers to line up.
