I will be surprised if anyone in Shenzhen will be attracted by a white, since foreigners are everywhere in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Beihai, on the other hand, is not remotely internationalized as Shenzhen.
20 years ago people in most of China stared at me, because it was so unusual for them to see a white face. Now I would need to go to a really out of the way spot for that to happen. Even in villages off the beaten track people take no notice of me.

Cell coverage, I had no problems anywhere in HK, but go across the border to Shenzhen and no Vodafone coverage.  :palm:

I'd do better homework for that next time.  |O
That's weird. Australians don't usually have any issues roaming to China.

Maybe it was just a problem where I was at Siglent in the Bao'an district.  :-\
