the slowness up to the point of haltness. it happened on certain hours in the day, during daylight and earlier night here. but on some lucky hours, i got through. late night like right now is usually ok. am i being throttled by admin or what? obviously i'm not banned yet... :P so is it just me? or some friends with similar experience?

Nope, no issues here other than the normal slow downs at peak data traffic times.
What sort of connection do you have ?
Historically we were on a very slow type of DSL and at peak times only a few 10's of KB speed was available despite having a 6MB/s link to our local box but its backhaul connection was 4km of 2MB/s wire for 50 odd customers so it's no wonder it got overloaded. ::)
Now with a 10km 5 GHz wireless service direct from a fiber connection we never have issues other than slight degrading at peak times.

None here as well - some embedded pix take a while to load, but I'm guessing that's due to all the new formats / storage - cheap old coax here :-)

the ISP put fiber optic to my house and the speed depends on how much i pay for it, currently on 300Mbps down, 50Mbps up. connection to other sites is normal. when i stop using eevblog for few hours and hit the unread button, its normal, but wait few minutes, loading threads is halted, its like someone in eevblog watching over me and bang! i got throttled and then halted for few hours again. checking isitjustme site, its indeed just me. if dave aware of this then fine, throttling me maybe a good thing. but if he's not aware, maybe his website infected by novel virus aimed towards anybody with nicknamed Mechatrommer.

Weird indeed, yes I understand how that could be unnerving.
I doubt very much Dave is restricting access speeds.

yes fark. i even paid for VPN last night (the cheapest in town SurfShark 2yrs), may be good for downloading some capitalist ideology book or tabboo materials. still struggling to get it working in XP :P

ok... this problem happened again exactly now! i switched to VPN australia and here is the post! tada! >:D... certainly someone is watching over me, probably an uyghur antiterrorism cracknut bullsheet... let me switch back to normal IP and see if i can make a post...

Well, not these past few days, but I've seen that happen occasionally yes.
Also, the nginx server occasionally crashes - don't know if it crashes or if it's due to maintenance/updates. Often happens on week-ends.

sometime i see this "nginx server under maintenance" or "nginx server unable to connect" or such iirc, but thats seldom, yes usually on midnight here, but this time is different, no "nginx" notification, the thread (or browser loading) just halted. currently on normal IP (night) after previous post using VPN above this afternoon, changed back to normal IP, i cant reload nor post anymore until now (night). i'm anticipating throttling in few minutes from now... yesterday it was ok throughout the day.

What I've seen more often is an "internal server error (500)" I think...
Doesn't happen often enough that it's a bother, but it does happen.
