Title: Anyone going to the Shenzhen Maker Faire, November 9/10?

I'll be in Shenzhen a few days early, to explore SEG and HQB, and then head back to NY the Monday after.

If you are planning on going, we should talk about a meetup.

If you want to go but are afraid to plunge into china alone, I may be able to talk you through it.  All you really need is a US carrier smart phone and a good international Data plan.  Google translate can be your guide, and there are other tools, including wechat, and bing.

First step is to get a Visa, and time is running short, apologies for not posting this earlier.

Air Fare from New York JFK to SZX is around $600 (round trip).  I'll be staying in an AirBNB (Yes they have those in China).

I would recommend avoid flying into Hong Kong this time..

I'm a retired GE Researcher, and now in private practice consulting in the area of optical metrology (think automated industrial inspection).  Being my own boss, gives me the flexibility to travel.  :)

Thoughts?

I may go, since why not? Probably less than an hour trip by bus! :-DD

I am going to Shenzhen by the end of this month, may be I will stay a little longer for this event.

Well from my part is already decided that I will go, plus being free entrance I don't lose anything.

If I have the chance to meet some people from this forum, it's even a better. Plus having the chance to learn something is always a good thing too.

I may be up also for exploring the electronic markets with people who knows what they are looking for.
