Title: Anyone got any cool project ideas or uses for the RasPi 2?

Just got mine in the mail today! My idea is to make a voice controlled robot that can operate items like arms and tools.
I have plans to make my original pi model B into a network controlled thermostat for the house.

Would love to hear everyone else's ideas!

All in one RepRap/Desktop CNC/mini pick and place controller. Should be more than powerful enough to run some CAD programmes

You could run RaspBMC on it, which functions as a pretty awesome media center.

You could extend your thermostat project to control more devices around your house over WiFi.

As suicidaleggroll suggested, building a console around the retropie images is nice if you're into classic games.

I got two:

1) smash it with a 10pd hammer - you would be the first in the world to do that;
2) smash it under a 1000ton press - you would be the first in the world to do that too.

How about a Xenon Flash Detector.

Ethernet connected useless box. I think most RPi ends up like that.

Have you never been to www.youtube.com? (https://www.youtube.com?) You need to be very quick when something new appears if you want to be the first to wreck one.

There's a guy on YT who appears to exclusively make his living from destroying the latest smartphone in innovative ways, such as boiling, smashing, immolation, hacksaw, BMW, ...
