Electrical work experience in Adelaide
« on: July 27, 2014, 08:51:56 pm »
Hey guys, I'm doing third year electrical and electronics engineering at University of Adelaide and for my degree, I need to complete 12 weeks of work experience. I have applied to DSTO, Aurecon, Alcoa and BP, and BP rejected me since they're all in Western Australia and maybe also because I didn't do so well last semester. Are there any other places that I can apply to? Maybe one that isn't listed in Engineers Australia website? A friend of mine got work experience at an optical/medical company but they are not opening to undergraduates this year. There's eLabtronics and they offer work experience all year round. From a few friends of mine though, it's more like a sweat shop so that's my last choice if I can.

I did stints at both DSTO and Minelab (part of Codan).  Both were very good.  If you're into the electrical side of things then there are Electranet, ETSA SA Power Networks, KBR, SKM, etc. etc.

But I'd advise looking for places that you think you might want to work after you've finished next year.
