Anyone in Australia with ability to read/write an Intel P8049AH?
« on: September 27, 2023, 03:40:58 am »
Hi,

I am trying to repair a R&S SMS signal generator and suspect the microcontroller had been replaced. It is a P8049AH that has a mask rom that would normally contain the software needed for the unit to function. If, as I suspect, the P8049 has been replaced with no mask rom code then the unit has no hope of working. I have several programmers but nothing that can read a P8049AH. I would be happy to post it to anyone in Australia to check for me if anyone is willing :)

Cheers

Richard

Method of dumping 8049 ROM (not EPROM) using Arduino: http://qemulator.blogspot.com/2020/05/dumping-intel-8049-roms.html

Thanks Ian. I have this page and another option of making an adapter for my GQ4x4 programmer as backups. Was hoping someone was already setup and willing :). Cheers.
