Ugh, hyperbole and exaggeration - is there NO ONE left on YouTube that doesn't stoop to this nonsense? I only take issue with the phrase "blow your mind!" -  the one and only thing which tends to *actually* blow my mind, is the irony that very little, if any of the stuff I am told that will "blow my mind!", does

This chap is showing us LEDs with an inductor and capacitor soldered to them, held within an EM field - how does that blow our minds? I feel that such nonsense undermines the integrity of the publisher of the video :-//

Be fair:  electromagnetic field theory was scoffed at when it first appeared.

I think that may have been quite some time ago  ;D

Here you go, complaining about random youtube videos again. Stop watching videos from authors you think are not doing a good job. Very simple.

If you are a rocket scientist and a theoretical physicist on one person, then you are not the target audience for the video. There are lots of people out there that would have their mind blown.

You should also read some text book for elementary school and complain that presented material is trivial and everyone knows that stuff.

You seem obsessively *compelled* to follow me and my threads, and unable to help yourself by giving "opinions" on what I am "doing wrong". Focus *inwardly* and work on yourself, and what you are doing right or wrong - never mind me - I am not that interesting to you... or maybe I am, because you keep doing this - should I be flattered?  :-+ ;D

I don't follow your specifically, I'm looking though all new topics from the RSS feed. Your stuff is just the most pointless.

And you should probably think about why those videos bother you so much. You are not alone in the world, and if you know something, does not mean everyone should know the same stuff and should stop making videos about it.

"Your stuff is just the most pointless."

And yet, here you are, squandering your precious time replying to topics you believe are beneath you to read, and you still have to "have your say" eh? I don't follow you around, replying to your posts - know why? Because I couldn't care less what you post about - you have every right to express yourself, and I have equal right not to care about it (even though I am sure some of it is very interesting - I'd like to make it clear I am not writing you off like a fool would) - there are barely enough hours in the day to to ACTUAL LIFE stuff, let alone make a concerted point of being vocal regarding the posting style of a STRANGER - that smacks of obsessive behaviour- it wouldn't even enter my sphere of consciousness to care - may I suggest the same?

People don't concern themselves with the doings of people they don't care abut, so I reckon I should be, in a strange way, flattered, but I am concerned that you don't see that it's a waste of your time... and it is.

Pick your battles, my friend. You come across as a pedant, and I should know, sometimes being one myself  ;D

Take it easy and calm down, life's too short to nitpick others. You will keep the peace you desire by being kind - or silently disagreeing, not picking fault.

Cool Apply this to yourself and videos you post here.

It is a technical forum, and you are turning it into facebook/twitter/whatever.

Pick your battles, my friend.

The thing is that there are most probably a number of people who agree with him.

Your schtick seems to be "Start a thread by posting a You Tube video and saying what you dislike/disagree with/think is lame about it". You are not unique or new in this behaviour. Quite a few people have developed that modus operandi, or a very similar one, before, they have been moaned at, and they have stopped.

Posting it here is implicitly saying "There is something in this material for EEVBlog readers.". If there isn't then all you're effectively doing is saying "Here is my opinion [whether you like it or not]". You're just grabbing people's attention and then disappointing them. There is an ideal place to express your opinion of random You Tube videos - they have a comments section conveniently attached to [almost] every video.

Saying something to the effect of "If you don't like it ignore it" is fine if you're talking about what you do at home, in private. It is not a substantive argument if we're talking about a shared space, which this is.

Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

Yes I see your point now, you've put that well.  I see it wasn't a well thought out posting, and I will gladly have the thread deleted if the mods want to. Thanks for being man enough to say it clearly, without being snotty or condescending... that shows kindness and maturity.

It's not a matter of whether the gist of what he says is right or not, it's the accusational, abrasive manner in which it is conveyed. I have no time for that nonsense; whether I am right or wrong, I try my best to be polite (and often fail), it's what makes a man a real man.

Apologies to members for wasting your time - it wasn't deliberate.
