Are there any decent hobbyist conventions/expos in the UK?
« on: April 13, 2016, 01:48:12 pm »
All the electronics expos I can find on the internet seem very corporate (i.e. National Electronics Week), I'm looking for something where hackers and hobbyists show off there gizmos and widgets, if such a thing exists.

Anyone know of anything like this in the UK?

Dunstable downs boot sale is about the only thing I'd go to and I'm not doing that this year as I'll just buy more projects I'll never get around to finishing :)

Not the same thing, but close in some respects: http://rsgb.org/main/news/rallies/

I'd have a look for maker space or hackspace open days.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.
Glider pilot's aphorism: "there is no substitute for span". Retort: "There is a substitute: skill+imagination. But you can buy span".

There has been a Maker Faire or two in London. Not sure if they're still going.

Thanks Guys

I found a small Hackspace in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, very close to me in fact!

Any members on here?

Also, some of those meets and rallies look worth a vist, thanks again.
