Are there any EEVblog server app you'd like to see installed?
Monkeh:
Please, no, not Xenforo. Or anything else which insists I can only use one third of my display.

I was an admin of a very large Mac forum back in the day. (It still exists, but has almost no traffic these days. But in its heyday of ~1999-2008ish, it was of similar membership as this forum is now.)
Anyhow, it originally ran on Ultimate Bulletin Board, a Perl-based system that… didn’t scale. So it was switched to vBulletin, which ultimately worked quite well. Overall, it looks and feels quite a bit like this forum, perhaps a bit more refined. But they also invested quite a bit in a custom skin and quite a bit of custom code to make things work as they should.
My hunch is that there would be very little advantage, if any, in migrating. And as Messtechniker said, migrations are risky (though how they managed to lose their source forum is puzzling… that sounds like a botched effort in every way). One huge problem with migrating is that internal links almost never get migrated properly, leading to a ton of link rot. (I don’t know why this is so difficult, but it apparently is…)

If I want to attach more than 1 image, I use an image hosting service but for many of my early postings the images are long gone.

But you know that you can attach up to 10 files, up to 5MB total?
This has always worked, it's only inlining which is screwed up.

Themes dictate this, not the forum software.
Most allow users to choose between a fixed width and full width. You can also pick the colour of the theme.
Hell, you can even have multiple themes. Would not be too hard to emulate this old theme and make Xenforo look alike.

It becomes a pain if you have multiple images as you can only select one at a time.
Modern editors will allow you to drop them in, move around and resize them. So much nicer than all in the footer.
This is not good for archiving though. All posts with Photobucket photos for example are useless now.
Really, all photos/images should be hosted on the forum unless absolutely necessary.
Less load time for users as well. 1 less DNS lookup.

I don't think I've ever seen a theme which behaves rationally for Xenforo. Maybe it's just the people using it..
Frankly, if all you're going to do is make it look identical, I don't see the point. Which is good, because this works fine.
