Putting IR reflow oven (with slits on the bottom) on a stand
« on: August 20, 2018, 05:40:49 pm »
Hi everyone,

I recently purchased an IR reflow oven (T-962C) and I noticed there are small slits at the bottom of the oven so the PCBs inside are visible from the bottom of the oven. For those of you not familiar, the reasons for the slits being there is to allow air to flow out when the oven cools the inside with its fans in order to meet the required heating profile.

My question is, can I lift the oven by approximately 7 cm and operate it without issues even though there are slits underneath? I was planning on putting the reflow oven on one of these: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00LOTQQ90/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. As additional info, my floor is fake wood (laminated plastic material) and the slits are approximately 2 cm long and 0.2 cm wide (don't quote me on this.. :P).

You use your benchtop reflow oven on the floor? :o
I refuse to use AD's LTspice or any other "free" software whose license agreement prohibits benchmarking it (which implies it's really bad) or publicly disclosing the existence of the agreement. Fortunately, I haven't agreed to that one, and those terms are public already.
