Hi all, A customer bought a Lumatek digital 250W HPS ballast (these are used instead of magnetic ones for lighting) It did not come with an output lead, so I was asked to convert it to an Au round earthed pin socket. I opened it up expecting to see a PCB terminal block, or crimp pins soldered into the PCB, Not the mess I found :( This is brand new. I was going to look at reverse engineering it, but I can not with this mess :( I did notice a vertical PCB in the middle of the main power board, so it seems it has a custom module :( I have looked for schematic on the net and not come accross any for MH or HPS globes :( Excuse the image quality, it was done with the camera phone ;) |

That's a lot of goo, I wonder if they're trying to make double sure it'll last through it's warranty at 100%RH. I've only dealt with these sorts of ballast once, but I think they might have specific output requirements. I found this writeup from ST, will this help you any? |
