Had a voucher offer that expired at midnight last night so spent an hour or so ordering some parts. I added 4 AD5547CRUZ DACs @ $16.47 (still showing at that price on octopart). That was a very good price and quite possibly an error, but they were there in the shopping basket at that price.
I continued shopping for some time to meet the minimum order value then went to pay. Just before I confirmed the order I realized that the total cost had gone up - the DACs were now just over $25 apiece! There was absolutely no warning about the price change so I was quite pissed off. I'm guessing that in the checkout process their order system did a sanity check on the prices, perhaps by checking on competitors sites, to try to avoid potentially costly pricing errors. I'd have been irritated, but wouldn't have had a problem if they had warned about the error and asked me if I wanted to proceed with the order at the new price - they are under no obligation to complete the trade at the wrong price (or any price).
I suggest anyone who orders from Arrow to be very careful to check the final price - in my case it was pretty obvious because of the size of the increase but it would be easy to miss a few % here or there on a large order . And you'd have no evidence after purchase of the price that you were offered when putting them into the basket because your invoice would only show the adjusted prices.
I very much doubt there was any human element involved given that it was't far off midnight (CT). Anyone else had this issue?
