How does Technicians , kills their free time ...
« on: April 14, 2010, 08:56:24 pm »
Despite the bad ppl , that Technicians  , are usually fat and with few hairs on their heads  ;D

I will not break the myth totally ... I am a bit fat ( 110K ) 1.85m , with all my hairs ,  and love to ride my motorcycle , plus playing with my hobby as digital photography .
( Hard core  Olympus fun of an specific old range of models C-2100UZ & E-100RS )
I own three  C-2100UZ plus one   E-100RS , and all the extras accessories and lens,
you name it, I have it , plus I had become expert at repairing them.
My primary C-2100UZ came as new ,  the rest , got them damaged from ebay , and fixed them.

About action ..
I like to have some " action " in my life, and my on-off motorcycle, gives me that spark of excitement,
photography  its the part, that relaxes  me ..

The above are parts of my every day life , and despite my age of 40+months,    41 at the 10 of May.
I can say that I hold my self, in a good shape .

Now its your turn to open up , and tells us , your private secrets.. of how you kill your own time.

Regards from Greece.

Yes, the question are " what do you do on your free time , what relaxes you ? ..

I am fighting hard here the language barrier , but even those small grammar mistakes ,
never stopped me , from keep trying to communicate.  ;D

Well Simon , in Greece we say, that in order to succeed ,
you need to have it ( the passion ), on your blood ..

My father was freelancer cars electrician , the No1 in my town, he was the " perfect " doctor ,
never ever made an mistake in his diagnosis , and he was trained me, up to one point,
because he died at the age of 45 from hart attack, and I was just 16 at that time.
At my 16 , I was in school  , getting classes so to become an electrician too , so to continue the successful family business .

After the loss of my father , I lost my way too, and started to work with electronics,
I love it , more than anything.

By bringing back to life , damaged devices  ( called as not repairable ) by other local technicians,
makes me feel , like a small God   ;D

No matter the time that I will spent , no matter the cost .. I will get it fixed , even If I have to invent the solution , by using similar parts , and if its an mechanical damage, I am creating the parts.

So I do understand , at list the source of your passion  ;)

No language problem Kiriakos, thats still my answer. my only method of total relaxation is watching a film but then I often feel that it's not good enough so I take my portable DVD player into the shed with something I'm working on and work on it while i watch a film. Or I watch a film onmy portable DVD player in my room while working at my computer on something (as I still need both screens or I'd watch on the second screen  :o)

In my case, being an "electronics" guy is my relaxation. I take things apart, fix them, build stuff....all in my free time...what little of it i have...i also like building larger stuff, i just got a MIG Welder and i have been fabricating some bigger projects....I'm working on a generator right now....

As for what i do in my non "free time" - I'm a full time university student by day.....and by night.... :'(

for some money on the side i am a computer field repair tech...but its only occasional work, nothing regular (don't really have time for anything regular)
